The Genesee Lodge, in particular, contained all the necessary information to identify it as an official lodge web site. Underneath its headline "The Genesee Lodge No 174", we find the following information: "Free and Accepted Masons, Chartered January 11, 1866 A.D. --

5866 A.L., Under the Jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Michigan". Thus, we have the clear and unmistakable line of authority back to the Michigan State Lodge.

Both of these web sites reported that Mr. Graham was one of their "Famous Masons". Since that time both have removed his name from the list. We reported this information to our readers, because, if Mr. Graham is a Freemason, then the faith in him and his ministry, which is shared by millions of Christians worldwide, is misplaced, to say the least. If Mr. Graham is a Freemason, then when Antichrist does arise, we can expect that Mr. Graham will step forward to urge Christians to follow Antichrist. The New World Order Plan does envision this very type of role for all major leaders of all major religions of the world, including "Christian" leaders. We felt that God's warning to Ezekiel in Chapter 3:17-21, was a warning to us, as well, in these most perilous End Times.

Therefore, we reported that Mr. Graham was listed on these Web pages as one of the "Famous Masons". A firestorm ensued, and it was a fire that burned at both ends. We heard from many of our readers, as most of them were irate that we would "attack" a Christian brother. On the other hand, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) also heard from our readers. We also emailed the BGEA, reporting that we had found his name listed as a "Famous Mason" and we asked for a response that we could print in an adjacent article.

At first, the BGEA was unwilling to respond. Our email to them went unanswered. Then, one of our readers forwarded to us a copy of an email which he had sent to BGEA. A short time later, he forwarded to us the response from BGEA, which we reported in NEWS1098. However, this response was very inadequate, as it was extremely lukewarm and vague. After we posted NEWS1098, we received another email from this same reader, as he posed three specific questions to Don Kinde, of BGEA, and further asking that The Cutting Edge Ministries be copied on the response.

We have received this response from Don Kinde, answering these three questions; and then Mr. Kinde went a bit further in supplying information. In this response, Don Kinde of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association categorically denied that Mr. Graham was a Freemason. We reprint this email in its entirety.

"Dear ----,

Thank you for your e-mail message regarding Freemasonry. My answer was to the question of Dr. Graham's view of and involvement with Freemasonry. I will respond to your three questions:

1. BGEA does not have an official position on Freemasonry. Mr. Graham's response that he is not, has not, and does not expect ever to be involved in Freemasonry is as close to any policy that we have.

2. Freemasons do not have compatible beliefs with fundamental Christianity.

3. We would not suggest that a person take an oath of Freemasonry.

----, let me share a bit more with you for your information. Many Christians do not believe that a Christian should be a member of a secret lodge, and ministers often strongly oppose such membership. At the same time, it must be recognized that there are Christians who are members of lodges. As to the degree of their commitment to Christ as Lord, we would not be able to judge; only the Lord knows the heart.

As we have said, Mr. Graham is not a member of any lodge. Part of his conviction is that a proper fulfillment of one's obligations to the church should fulfill any need that one has for this type of organization. All too often lodges and fraternal organizations compete with the exercise of one's gifts in the church, and take up time that could be more wisely invested in

one's family. If a husband and wife are not in mutual agreement concerning membership in a lodge, a serious rift can occur in their relationship because of the nature of fraternal organizations and involvement with them.

If a lodge or club denies the Triune God, or the deity and atoning sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, or teaches that we can find salvation through our own meritorious good deeds, or interferes in any way with the service of a Christian to his Lord or to his church, that organization should have no appeal for a Christian. We are expected by God to use wisdom in deciding whether or not to be a member of any organization. The Bible says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, 'he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it

will be given to him' (James 1:5)."

"Regarding the issue of beliefs, in A CONCISE DICTIONARY OF CULTS & RELIGIONS

by William Watson (Moody, 1991), the following information about Freemasonry is given:

Also known as Masons and Masonic Lodge. . . . 'Teaches that all religions are one and that there are many gods who are considered equal to Jesus. Masonic literature denies that Jesus is the only savior of the world and rejects Christ's death on the cross as God's sole remedy for sin. Salvation depends on works, not faith in God. The sacred books of many religions are regarded equally as revelations from God. Other helpful books are: MASONS: WHAT THEY BELIEVE by Harold J. Berry and THE FACTS ON THE MASONIC LODGE: DOES MASONRY CONFLICT WITH THE CHRISTIAN FAITH? by John Ankerberg and John Weldon. You may find these at most Christian bookstores. So, there you have it: the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) recognizes the un-Christian nature of Freemasonry, and urges that no Christian ever becomes a member of it. Don Kinde even goes so far as to say that any Christian who does become a member, will have to wait until the Believer's Judgment to have their hearts fully examined before the Lord. This is a serious statement, coming as it does from a senior member of the BGEA, a man who exhibits clear understanding of Scripture in this regard.

We accept Mr. Kinde's denial, above, that Mr. Graham is not a member of any Lodge of Freemasons. And, we accept the first denial-- lukewarm though it was -- that "Mr. Graham is not, has not been and does not expect ever to be involved in Freemasonry." [ NEWS1098]

And, we accept that this probably means that Mr. Graham is definitely NOT a Freemason, and that he never has been a Freemason. We are grateful that Mr. Kinde has set the record straight.

But, of course, his denial also sets the BGEA as being squarely against the un-Christian nature of Freemasonry. We are thankful that this stand against Freemasonry is now public and now on record. Truly, no Christian should ever be part of any organization that denies that Jesus Christ is the only way to Salvation, and that denies that the Holy Bible is the only sacred Scripture in the world, and that denies Salvation by Grace alone, all as acknowledged by Mr. Kinde, above.

Further, one does not have to be a member of Freemasonry for long to recognize the un-Christian nature of the organization. From the beginning steps, a true Christian would be on the alert about the true nature of Freemasonry, because:

1) He would immediately be required to take violent and bloody oaths to seal his membership, oaths that he is forbidden to take in Scripture. (Matthew 5:34-37]

2) He would immediately be taught the following precepts of Freemasonry:

"Thus, by the very honor which Masonry pays to the Bible it teaches us to revere every book of faith in which men find help for today and hope for the morrow, joining hands with the man of Islam as he takes an oath on the Koran, and with the Hindu as he makes covenant with God upon the book that he loves best."

"For Masonry knows what so many forget, that religions are many but Religion is one. Perhaps we may say one thing but that one thing includes everything. The life of God is the soul of man, and the duty and hope of man which proceed from His essential character. Therefore, it invites to its altars men of all faiths, knowing that, if they use different names for the "The Nameless One of a hundred names", they are praying to the one God and Father of all; knowing also that while they read different volumes they are, in fact, reading the same vast book of the faith of man as revealed in the struggle and sorrow of the race in its quest of God...." [Emphasis ours]

""Nonetheless, much as we honor every book of faith in which any man has found courage to lift his hand above the night that covers him and lay hold of the mighty hand of God, with us the Bible is supreme. What Homer was to the Greeks, what the Koran is to the Arabs, that and much more, the grand old Bible is to us." [Emphasis ours]

Thus, we can see the elementary teaching of Freemasonry that they revere every book of faith. Thus, Freemasonry immediately calls Jesus Christ a liar, because Jesus declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." [John 14:6] Freemasonry is also guilty of teaching its members that the "Broad Road" is the right way to eternal life in Heaven, despite the fact that Jesus taught that the "Broad Road" is the way to Hell, though the travelers of this road are deceived into thinking they are on the road to Heaven.

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." [Matthew 7:13-15]

The "Strait Gate" is the narrow gate, which recognizes that Jesus Christ is the only Way to Salvation, but the "Broad" gate is the way which believes that all religions are one and are equally valid, that all religious books are equal and equally valid, and that Jesus Christ is the same type of religious leader as was Mohammed and Buddha, and many other "Avatars" throughout history.

These teachings are elementary within Freemasonry and are taught at the early stages of membership. No one who knows their Scriptures should be deceived, even for a little while. Every one who knows Scripture should immediately be alerted to the un-Biblical nature of Freemasonry, and should leave so quickly, that the door does not hit him on the way out. The true nature of Freemasonry should be that clear, that early.

Finally, in this Scripture, above, as to the broad and narrow gates, Jesus immediately follows up His warning, with the admonition that the teachings of the false broad way will be given by "False Prophets" who seem to be genuine pastors, but who are really ravenous wolves inside. What this means is that False Teachers come to flocks, of any age, with the evil intention of leading away as many people to eternal destruction as possible. These false teachers and leaders were never genuinely saved to begin with. From the beginning, they intended to lead as many people astray as possible.

We have always been confused as to how "Christian" leaders could be deceived, when the earliest teachings of Freemasonry so clearly contradict Scripture. We can only conclude that pastors and teachers who are Freemasons, can only fall into this category of "false prophets" of which our Lord was warning, above. In other words, they were Freemasons first and "Christians" second, or "Christians" not at all. They were simply ravenous wolves dressed up to look like kind, innocent, and harmless sheep.

At this point, we need to point out again, that no man is saved by believing in "God" alone, because Salvation is offered only through Jesus Christ. Freemasons trumpet their belief in God, saying that this makes them "Christians", even though the Bible makes it quite clear that a belief in God without a belief in Jesus Christ will land you in Hell. The Apostle James states this quite clearly when he says, "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." [James 2:19] Do not be deceived when Freemasons, and their supporters in the Mass Media, trumpet a belief in God only, never mentioning Jesus Christ. This is the deceptive "Broad Road", leading to Hell.

Freemasonry has thoroughly penetrated the Christian churches today. The Southern Baptist Convention has been especially troubled by Freemasonry, as many of its pastors, teachers, and leaders are Freemasons. Many of its recent Conventions have been rocked by this issue.

Our only confusion is that, if officials within the BGEA recognize the evil, un-Christian nature of Freemasonry, why isn't Mr. Graham willing to take a leadership role in combating it? His beloved Southern Baptist Convention, of which he is a part, is rocked to its core continually by this controversy. Why isn't Mr. Graham taking the leadership role in fighting Freemasonry openly, publicly, throwing the full weight of the BGEA on the side of the faithful Southern Baptists who are struggling against Freemasonry within the church?

Nevertheless, we now have the public record of Mr. Graham that he is not now, has never been, and does not plan, on becoming a Freemason. We also have the public testimony from Don Kinde, "Christian Guidance Department Billy Graham Evangelistic Association" of the un-Christian nature of Freemasonry, admonishing that no one should ever become a member!!

We feel this is quite an accomplishment!!

However, we still stand behind our troubling questions which we raised in NEWS1082.

1) Why is Mr. Graham's organization cooperating with the Roman Catholic Church generally, and the Pope specifically, when Catholics teach Salvation by works and through their Sacraments, not through faith in Jesus' sacrifice alone? We are especially troubled about Mr. Graham's cooperation with the Pope, especially when we understand that the New World Order Plan has already tapped the Pope as the top spiritual leader of the coming New World Order Religion, of Antichrist [Reported in NEWS1052 "Seminar Notes: House of Theosophy, 8/18/91"].

Why is Mr. Graham cooperating with the future False Prophet?

2) Why does the BGEA give the follow-up responsibility of discipling new born baby Christians, saved at one of their rallies, to Apostate, Liberal Churches? Since the early 1950's, the BGEA has repeatedly poured new lifeblood into dying, apostate churches by giving them the names of new converts. This practice has greatly facilitated the Ecumenical Movement. Remember, New Age authors view the Ecumenical Movement as an essential step in the creation of the global religion of their New Age Christ [Antichrist].

3) Why has Mr. Graham continually reversed many of his previously fundamental stands, as we reported in NEWS1082? Time and space does not permit us to systematically list these issues again here, but we invite you to thoroughly read this article.

We are still troubled by the many actions of the BGEA, but we do accept Mr. Graham's denial that he is a Freemason. We do understand that Mr. Graham has spread the Gospel message throughout the world as has no other person in history. We applaud the Holy Spirit for this accomplishment.

We leave you with this urgent message: We are living in the most perilous time in world history, the time immediately preceding the appearance of Antichrist. All the signs of which the Bible tells us to be aware, are present in the world today. We know that his appearance is close at hand.

Therefore, we are living in the time of unparalleled religious deception of which Jesus and Paul repeatedly warned [Matthew 24:4, 11, 25; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10, just to quote two verses]. The Bible clearly states that the Hallmark of the Tribulation Period, of Antichrist, will be Religious Deception. God has given us these many prophecies so that we will be able to spot the deception and avoid it in our lives. Biblical doctrine and prophecy combine to provide us with an anchor that cannot slip or fail, an anchor that will deliver us to eternity in Heaven, even though the entire world is embroiled in the greatest "storm" of evil events and deception in world history.

Now is the time for every man and woman to know their Scriptures so very well that they can properly "test the spirits", to see if they come from God or Satan, just as the Apostle John tells us we should do in 1 John 4:1-4.

Now is the time to gauge every religious leader, and every religious ministry, by the Word of God, the Holy Bible, to see if they come from God or Satan. Do not put your trust blindly in any leader, even a Billy Graham. Put your faith and trust only in Scripture, and continually test every statement of every leader, every time, against the Bible.

Then, we will not be deceived, and we will all gather in Heaven for the "Marriage Supper of the Lamb". This is our prayer for you. As Jesus told us, "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

But beware of men ..." [Matthew 10:16-17a]

"Beware of men". Especially now, at this End of the Age.

[We have now discovered that both of these Masonic Lodge Web Sites have removed Mr. Graham as one of their "Famous Masons". So, it seems settled that he is not. Evidently, they were lying in the first place.]

Are you spiritually ready to face this End of the Age time period? Is your family? Are you adequately protecting your loved ones? This is the reason for this ministry, to enable you to first understand the peril facing you, and then help you develop strategies to warn and protect your loved ones. Once you have been thoroughly trained, you can also use your knowledge as a means to open the door of discussion with an unsaved person. I have been able to use it many times, and have seen people come to Jesus Christ as a result. These perilous times are also a time when we can reach many souls for Jesus Christ, making an eternal difference.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, but have been very lukewarm in your spiritual walk with Him, you need to immediately ask Him for forgiveness and for renewal. He will instantly forgive you, and fill your heart with the joy of the Holy Spirit. Then, you need to begin a daily walk of prayer and personal Bible Study.

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, but have come to realize His reality and the approaching End of the Age, and want to accept His FREE Gift of Eternal Life, you can also do so now, in the privacy of your home. Once you accept Him as Savior, you are spiritually Born Again, and are as assured of Heaven as if you were already there.
